On March 16–17, 2026, an India-Russia pharmaceutical industry meeting is being held in Moscow. The event is organized by the Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL), the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India, and the Embassy of India in the Russian Federation.
The key objective of the meeting is to strengthen trade ties and elevate bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector to a new level. Delegates from more than 60 leading Indian pharmaceutical companies are participating in the event. For Russian partners, this presents a unique opportunity for direct negotiations with decision-makers and for securing mutually beneficial contracts with reliable manufacturers from India.
"Moscow views the pharmaceutical industry as one of the priority areas for international technological cooperation. The city has developed a robust scientific and industrial base, including pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, research centers, and innovation hubs. This potential creates favorable conditions for localizing production, advancing joint research initiatives, and implementing cutting-edge medical technologies," emphasized Vyacheslav Manuylov, Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of Moscow, in his address.
The Business Council for Cooperation with India, established under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, plays a significant role in fostering such collaboration. Its activities are supported by the Government of Moscow and the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of Moscow. The Council has become an effective platform for systematic dialogue between Moscow-based and Indian companies, industry associations, and government bodies. Its work focuses on expanding business contacts, developing investment projects, and advancing industrial cooperation.
The Business Council actively promotes collaboration in the pharmaceutical sector. Representatives of Moscow-based enterprises and Indian companies participate in specialized industry forums, conferences, and business meetings, where they discuss the adoption of new technologies, the development of biopharmaceutical production, and joint scientific research. Within the framework of these events, Russian companies reaffirm their interest in expanding engagement with Indian partners in the development of biotechnological products and high-tech pharmaceuticals.
